Advanced Clinical Mentorship at Lotus Care

At Lotus Care Acupuncture & TCM Clinic, we offer a specialized 1-to-2-year Residency and Clinical Assistant Program. Designed for those who are serious about mastering their craft, this program provides intensive, hands-on, 1-on-1 mentorship alongside an established clinical expert.
This is more than a job—it is a structured pathway to refine your clinical skills, deepen your diagnostic reasoning, and build the professional confidence required to run a highly successful practice.
The Lotus Care Residency Pathway
Our residency model is designed as a progressive, three-stage clinical training program, ensuring you build competence and confidence at every step.
Stage 1 — The Clinical Assistant (Foundation & Observation)
Residents begin by working closely alongside a senior practitioner. In this foundational stage, you will observe consultations, assist with treatments, and learn the operational rhythm of a modern, high-standard TCM clinic. You will develop skills in:
- Advanced patient intake and nuanced diagnostic observation.
- Precise acupuncture point location and treatment preparation.
- Seamless treatment room workflow and patient care protocols.
- Effective, empathetic communication with patients and other healthcare professionals.
Stage 2 — Supervised Clinical Practice (Application & Refinement)
As your foundational skills solidify, you will begin providing treatments under direct, 1-on-1 mentorship and supervision. We focus on moving beyond the textbook to develop true clinical judgment. You will receive expert guidance on:
- Complex case analysis and formulating effective treatment strategies.
- Advanced acupuncture point selection and needle techniques.
- Integrating classical TCM theory with modern clinical reasoning.
- Structuring treatment plans and accurately tracking patient progress.
Stage 3 — Independent Practice Development (Mastery & Autonomy)
In the final stage of your residency, you will gradually transition toward independent clinical practice while continuing to benefit from our mentorship umbrella. Your training will focus on:
- End-to-end patient case management.
- Clinic workflow optimization and schedule management.
- Professional patient education and communication.
- Navigating ethical and regulatory practice standards in Ontario.
(Note: Residents who successfully complete the program may be offered the opportunity to seamlessly continue their practice within the Lotus Care network.)
